Thorhild County provides natural gas, water, and sewer services to residents in different areas of the municipality.

Streetlights in the Hamlets:  Please note that the County is not responsible for the street light in the Hamlets, nor does it repair the streetlights.  To report a problem, residents should contact Fortis Alberta at 310-9473 or see the Fortis Alberta website.

Provincial Carbon Levy - Please note that the County is required to collect the Carbon Levy on natural gas of $1.011/GJ.  The County billing that will be sent out in February 2017 will include a separate line item for the carbon levy.

Water conservation tips:3

  • Kitchen -
    install a low flow faucet aerator which can cut water use in half

  • Bathroom
    Shorten a shower by a minute or two to save up to 150 gallons a month. Use a water efficient shower head. They are inexpensive and easy to install and can save up to 750 gallons a month.

  • Turn water off when brushing your teeth to save 25 gallons per month.
