Thorhild & District Community Adult Learning Council (CALC) is one of approximately 80 Community Adult Learning Councils in the province of Alberta. The mandate of the Volunteer Board is to administer local adult education programs.

Utilizing available resources, adult learning programs are offered that encourage “life long learning”. Below are a few examples:

  • Employment Enhancement Training (i.e. Computer Training, First Aid, etc.)
  • English as a Second Language
  • Distance Learning
  • Fitness and Health
  • General Interest and Community Needs Courses
  • One-on-One Learning

Program flyers are released two times a year in late August and early January.

English as a Second Language:  Thorhild & District Community Adult Learning Council is pleased to offer ESL Courses (English as a Second Language).  At this time, sessions are one-on-one and the timing of the sessions is dependent on the volunteer tutor's and student's schedule.  There is no cost to the student.  For more information contact Pam at 780-398-2804.

Do you have a special talent? Are you interested in being one of our instructors? Would you like to volunteer your time with our organization? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, please call us!
