Outdoor swimming pool is open from May to August (weather permitting); offering public swimming, Lifesaving Society lessons, private rentals, and aquafitness programs. Watch for the 2025 Swimming Lessons Registration in May 2025! To register for lessons, simply click on the Online Registration link when it opens. Make sure you have all your information ready and choose the lessons you wish to register for. Note: As per Policy 1011 Recreational Facility Use, Swimming Pool Lessons, once paid, are considered final sale and are non-refundable. However, should a participant have written documentation from a doctor that they cannot swim for health reasons, the fees will be refunded. In the event a lesson is cancelled due to weather or water temperatures, dates will be rebooked. If dates cannot be rebooked, then refunds will be issued on a pro-rated basis based on days attended. Click here to access your Thorhild Swimming Pool Report Card Bronze Medallion & Bronze Cross Combo Course Want to be a Lifeguard or gain more swimming knowledge or skills? Take your Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross Como Course! These courses are prerequisites for the National Lifeguard course and certification. Bronze Medallion must be taken before or at the same time as Bronze Cross. These courses will be offered every 2nd year or sooner if enough interest. Last course offered was in 2023. At least 5 people need to be registered in order to run the course. It is possible to complete both Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross during our course. Requirements for Bronze Medallion/Cross: You must be 13 years of age or have completed the Bronze Star program To be evaluated for Bronze Cross, you must have completed the requirements for Bronze medallion within the course or in the past and you must also have completed Emergency First Aid or Standard First Aid in the past. Price: The price of the combined course is $250 where you will be evaluated for both Bronze Medallion and cross certifications.
