Halfmoon Lake Campground is open from May 15 to September 30 each year. Gates are locked from October 1 to May 15. Day Use and Boat Launch open daily from 8 am-10 pm during the operational season, fees apply. Access to this picturesque site is by gravel interior roads and is located in Thorhild County on the shore of Halfmoon Lake, which features a clean swimming area! All campsites are seasonal sites. Day use and boat launch fees apply to anyone visiting the site. All children under the age of 16 must be supervised by an Adult. No dogs are allowed within the park except in desginated campsites and must be registered with the County. Alcohol is only permitted in designated campsites. No alcohol is to be consumed in public spaces within the park. The cost for seasonal sites is $2,000/site/season (includes GST). Each site has power and contains a fire pit and picnic table, and fee includes day use and boat launch fees. There will also be available to those with seasonal rental 3 storage spaces in a compound for a cost of $200/site/season (includes GST) and must be applied for at the time as seasonal site. Application process: County residents may apply from January 15 to February 15 pending site availability, Non-County residents from Febraury 20 to March 10. Maximum RV size: Site 1,7,8 - 35ft, Site 6,10,11 - 40ft, Site 3,4,5,9 – 45ft, Site 2 – 50ft It is your responsibility to know if your unit will fit the site applied for. Site Map: Note: A pleasure Craft Operator Card is required to operate power-drive boats and watercraft in Canada. Directions from Thorhild: Travel 6 km west of Thorhild on Highway 18, turn south on Opal Road and travel 9 km, then turn west on Township 590, travel 8 km and the campground will be on the South side of the road. Or travel 14 km west of Thorhild on Highway 18, then turn south on Range Road 232 and continue 12 km or 29 km north of Bon Accord on Lily Lake Road and then 3 km east. Reminder there is no access to the lake for ice fishing: Sorry for the inconvenience, but there will be no public access through the campground to the lake for ice fishing.
