Tuesday, January 19, 2021 Kelly Oltean 14623 Attractions, Recreation Facilities Long Lake Ski Area Currently Closed - Tentative Opening Date - ***CHANGED TO*** JANUARY 4, 2025 Rural Alberta is beautiful in the winter, but the weather can be unpredictable. While we initially planned to open the Long Lake Ski Area on December 27th, we have postponed the opening to January 4th due to the forecasted warm temperatures. The good news is that we are not facing frigid cold; however, this means you'll have to wait a bit longer to enjoy the slopes. Although we may not know what the weather will bring from week to week, one thing is certain: life is better with snow at the Long Lake Ski Area! Please continue to check for updates. The Ski Hill is open on weekends, holidays, and Aspen View School holidays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. All days are weather dependant. (Ski Hill closes when the forecast does not get warmer than -25.) If unsure, please call the Ski Hill directly to see if it is open on that day. Ski Local! Ski Long Lake! Snowshoeing your thing? If you are into snowshoeing, there is a trail surrounding the ski hill. Bring your snowshoes and try out the trail at no cost. Be prepared, as this trail does surround the ski hill, so you will have an uphill climb, but along the way, take breaks and enjoy the scenery. Good news - to get back to the parking area after you climb up, it's all downhill. Ask staff for directions on where the trail begins, and enjoy!
