Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of County Services, Thorhild County is seeking a suitable individual for a permanent position to carry out the following duties:

Responsible for management, budget, and reporting for the following areas:

Parks and Recreational Services        

Thorhild Outdoor Swimming Pool  Long Lake Ski Area
Half Moon Lake Park & Campground Thorhild Baseball Diamonds
Thorhild Centennial Park & Campground    Thorhild Multi-Court
Radway Playground Newbrook Observatory
Any other park or playground  


Family and Community Support Services

Seniors Services & Programs  Summer Programs
Family Resource Center    Volunteer Income Tax Program  
Family School Liaison Program      

 

  • Ensure programs comply with all funding requirements, outcome measures, and evaluation processes as required.
  • Create, pursue and maintain rapport and positive working relationships with community groups, recreation and cultural organizations, sports organizations, special service activities, and other interested parties to promote community services, activities and events.
  • Responsible to ensure the overall philosophy, guidelines, policies, and programs developed are carried out in a consistent manner.
  • Ensure efficient operations, maintenance, development, programming and promotion of Thorhild County recreational facilities and areas.
  • Promote volunteerism and community spirit through collective efforts to meet local needs.

 

Required Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education (diploma/degree) in social sciences or equivalent education and experience.
  • Previous experience in developing preventative social support while fostering a team environment.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Office Products.
  • Possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Successful candidate will be required to provide a Vulnerable Sector Check, Child Intervention Check, and Drivers Abstract.
Additional Information

This position is based on a 40-hour work week.  Thorhild County has a comprehensive benefit program. Current employees of the Thorhild County fulfilling the requirements essential to this position shall be considered for this position. Salary to be determined based on applicant’s level of education and experience. Hourly pay range for this position is ($51.17-$65.21).
