A full Fire Ban is in effect throughout Thorhild County. Current conditions are considered extreme. The following are prohibted: all outdoor burning, the use of explosive targets, and the discharge of fireworks. All forms of vehicles can be a serious source of ignition in extreme conditions. Use caution when working or driving in grassy areas.

The Safety Codes Act requires that all contractors and homeowners in Alberta obtain permits prior to commencing work on buildings covered by the Alberta Building Code or work governed by the Canadian Electrical Code, the Alberta Gas Code or the Alberta Plumbing Code.

This is an Alberta Emergency Alert. Sturgeon County's Wildfire Evacuation Order remains in effect. Alert Area Lifted.

The Alert Area is on the map in blue. This was the area advised to prepare for possible evacuation, including all areas located from Rge Rd 203 East to the North Sask River and all areas from Rge Rd 213 West to Rge Rd 223, and the Town of Redwater. This area is no longer “on alert” effective 16:45hrs/4:45PM on May 12, 2025. The Evacuation Order Area is on the map in red. This Evacuation Order remains in effect and includes all areas located from Rge Rd 213 East to Rge Rd 203, all areas located from Township Road 580 South to the North Sask River.
