Thorhild County operates and maintains water distribution systems in the hamlets of Egremont, Newbrook, Radway and Thorhild supplied by the Highway 28/63 Regional Water Services Commission.
Thorhild County is responsible for the water line up to the water cc. Any repairs required from the water cc to the residence is the property owner's responsibility.
Thorhild County is responsible for the sewer line from the lift station to the sewer main. Any repairs required from the sewer main to the residence is the property owner's responsibility.
Sewer services are provided to the Hamlets of Egremont, Newbrook, Opal, Radway and Thorhild.
The Hamlet of Long Lake has non-potable water wells located on each block. These block wells are open year-round. Water can be accessed directly at each well site by connecting a garden hose to fill containers at the properties or by filling portable containers at the wells. Bylaw 06-2023 outlines a Special Levy for the maintenance of the Long Lake Community Block Wells.

Truck Fill Stations are available to supply bulk water both potable and non-potable. You must open a prepaid account and you will then be provided with an access code. Bylaw 01-2023 Water and Wasterwater Rates outlines the truckfill water rates.
Bulk water at Alpen can only be accessed through the use of toonies and loonies.

The Recreation Vehicle sani-dump station located in the Thorhild Community Hall parking lot (7th avenue on the east side of Thorhild) is open during summer months. The water tap at the RV sani-dump station is potable water.
